How Our AI Works
How HRGuru's AI Works
HRGuru uses AI to help recruiters screen CVs. This page explains what the system does, what it does NOT do, and your rights — as required by the EU AI Act.
High-Risk AI System
HRGuru's CV scoring is a HIGH-RISK AI system under the EU AI Act (2024), Annex III, Point 2 (recruitment and employee selection).
What the AI Does
- Compares a CV against a role's required skills, level and criteria.
- Produces a score (0–100), recommendation, strengths, gaps and an explanation.
What the AI Does NOT Do
- It does NOT make the hiring decision — a human recruiter always decides.
- It does NOT use protected characteristics (age, gender, ethnicity, religion) as criteria.
- It does NOT retain your CV beyond the configured retention period (default 365 days).
Human Oversight
Every AI score is advisory; the employer must keep a human in the loop. Recruiters can override the score.
Your Rights
- Explanation of a decision that affected you.
- Human review of an AI-assisted decision.
- Objection to automated processing.

Bias Testing
We monitor scoring for bias and maintain technical documentation; independent audit results will be published here when available.
